Clell (Sonny) Lawson Cotter Jr., age 81 of Maryville, TN went to be with the Lord on July 26th, 2022. Sonny was a devoted member of Hillcrest Baptist church for 45 years where he served as a Deacon and taught Sunday School. He attended Everett High School and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. After college, he served in the Army for two years stationed in Korea followed by a 35 year career at the post office. Sonny loved cars, the mountains, horses, working in his yard, baking, and studying the bible.

Sonny was preceded in death by his mom and dad, Clell Sr. and Queenie Cotter, daughter Vicki Hansen; sister, Sandra Millsaps; brother-in law, Don Headrick; infant brother, Johnny. He is survived by his loving wife, Irene, of 58 years; daughter Angie Fowler; sister Sylvia Headrick; brother-in-law Steve Millsaps and family; and special friends, Brian, Julie, Garrett and Gracie Keyl.

The family will receive friends from 1 PM until 3 PM at Hillcrest Baptist Church with a service and burial immediately following on Saturday, July 30, 2022.  In lieu of flowers, make donations to Gideons International in memory of Sonny.
