Claudette Smelcer Dover, age 70, of Maryville passed away peacefully at home at 10:07 am, Thursday, August 30, 2012. Claudette was a member of Old Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church but was attending Butterfly Gap Baptist Church. Preceded in death by: Parents, Claude & Edna Smelcer; Brother, Raymond Smelcer. Survivors include: Husband, Walter (Bud) Dover; Daughter & Son-in-law, Angie & Danny Vickery; 2 Granddaughters, Kelcie & Katie Vickery; Brother & Sister-in-law, Randall & Peggy Smelcer; Sister & Brother-in-law, Brenda & Richard Gunter; Stepdaughters, Teresa Harrington, Renee Luttrell, Phyllis Morgan; Stepson, Clarence Jr. Dover; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at 7:00 PM, Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Quinton Barb and Rev. Lee Fuller officiating. Interment will be at 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 2, 2012 at Grandview Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM, Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Smith Trinity Chapel.
