Claude “Jr�? Johnson age 80 of Townsend, passed away Friday, December 30, 2011 at Colonial Hills Nursing Home. He retired from the National Park Service after 30 years of service. Claude was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean conflict. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude & Nell Johnson. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Marie Johnson; children, Thom Johnson & wife, Carolyn, Bob Johnson & wife, Robin, Lynn Barton, Karen Sands & husband, Roger, Jerry Johnson & wife, Emily, Robyn Buchanan, John Johnson & wife, Jami, Ronnie “Monk�? Johnson & wife, Lisa, Jackie Suttles & husband, Ronnie; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Ted Johnson; sister & brother-in-law, Faye & Jack Moser; his beloved dog “Jake.�? Jr will be missed by a host of extended family members and friends. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Monday, January 2, 2012 at Smith Trinity Chapel. Funeral service at 7pm with Rev. Ronnie Hepperly & Rev. Jeff Dockery officiating. The family & friends will assemble at 11:00 am, Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Tuckaleechee United Methodist Church Cemetery for the interment.
