Ammons, Clarence Edward Jr. age 54 was born June 16, 1952 in McMinn Co. and reborn in Heaven on November 14, 2006 after a brief but very courageous battle with cancer in his home surrounded by the family that loved and cared for him including his beloved dog Daisy. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Clarence went on to be with his cherished mother and father, the late Ophelia Pitts Ammons and Clarence Ammons Sr. Survivors include: Wife of 26 years, Jody Ammons; Four wonderful children who were the true meaning of his life; Sons Justin Lee Hurst & wife Tessa, Jason Edward Ammons, Joseph Hoyle Ammons; Daughter and partner in crime, Karri Lois Ammons all of Maryville; Special loved and "adopted" children, Tiffany Oliver, Jared Homant, Charles Garrison, and Nathan Seymour all of Maryville. He was very proud of all of you. Beloved brothers, Wendell Pitts & wife Viola, Robert Pitts & wife Rhonda, Bert Ammons & wife Sue all of Maryville; Beloved Sisters, Marlene Burns & late husband Eugene of Knoxville, Cathleen Waggoner & husband Dalvin of Powell, Geraldene Hubbard & husband Pete of Maryville; many beloved nieces and nephews. Beloved Mother and Father-in-laws, Brenda & Robert Tindell of Maryville and Edward and Juanita Dixon of Macon, GA; Brother-in-law, David Bryant & wife Jenni, Derek Bryant & wife Sharon all of Maryville. Clarence was bigger than life, never met a stranger, and always had a joke. He would want us to laugh, live life, have faith, and never grieve for him. We will never forget him and will always miss him. Funeral service will be at 8:00 PM, Wednesday, November 15, 2006 in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Rev. Danny Davis officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 2:00 PM, Friday, November 17, 2006 at Grandview Cemetery.
