Claire D. Barrett

Claire D. Barrett age 78 of Alcoa passed away Monday, April 4, 2011 after a brief illness. She was a founding member of the Blount County Newcomers and was an active member contributing her time and many talents. She was a retired med-surg nurse and a brave cancer survivor. Claire had many hobbies including antiquing and making cheesecake. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jay E. Barrett. Survivors include: Son & Daughter-in-law, Peter & Amanda Barrett of Anderson, SC; sister, Doris Davies of Media, PA; many nieces & nephews from the Philadelphia area; and all of her loving friends from the Blount County Newcomers group. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 7:00 pm, Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Jim Millsaps officiating. Private inurnment will be Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.
