Christopher Lowell Seale passed away on October 20, 2015 following a long battle with cancer. Chris was born on September 13, 1959 in Hamilton, OH to Lowell and Mavis Seale. He attended West Carrollton High School in Dayton, OH and spent his summers at Youth Haven Bible Camp where at age 16, he met the love of his life, Ramona. They went on to attend college together at Cumberland College in Williamsburg, KY where he studied psychology. Chris and Ramona were married on May 17, 1980 and shortly thereafter moved to Baltimore. He worked as an executive at USF&G for 10 years. While in MD, they welcomed the birth of their first child, Ashley. In 1995, following the arrival of their second daughter, Christina, the family relocated to Maryville, TN- a place he quickly grew to love and called home. He owned and operated his own business for 16 years with his brother Steve. He always had a passion for music and taught himself to play the guitar at age 14. His early musical influences were John Denver and James Taylor. He was honored to be able to share his music with dear friends and family. He celebrated the lives of others by playing at weddings, funerals, and Celebrate Recovery. He enjoyed strumming at family reunions with his uncles, around a campfire, or alongside various groups within his church family. Aside from music, he served God by teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, coaching Upward basketball, and participating on mission trips. Chris loved to spend his spare time with his family enjoying the beauty of God’s creation. Some of his favorite pastimes were camping, going to the beach and the mountains, and cheering on the Vols and Bengals. Chris was preceded in death by his beloved brother Steve Seale. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Ramona Seale of Maryville; his parents, Mavis and Lowell Seale of Maryville; his children Ashley and husband Kevin Grindlay of Sugar Hill, GA, and Christina Seale of Maryville; newborn granddaughter Raya Hope Grindlay; siblings, Deborah (Bill) Fox of Knoxville, Melissa (Dudley) Taylor of Knoxville; and many loving nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
