Christine Nickens Hickman, age 92 passed away on December 17, 2024. Christine loved children and was a long time school teacher, primarily at Claxton Elementary in Anderson County. In her retirement she happily had a role in teaching and loving on her six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Christine was born and raised in Nashville to Paul and Ina Mae Nickens. She moved to Oak Ridge with her husband, Edward E Hickman, Sr in 1954. After 50 years and retirement, they moved to Walland for their golden years. Suffering from dementia, Christine passed away peacefully at Clover Hill Senior Living with her children by her side. Christine is preceded in heaven by her husband of sixty years, Edward Hickman. Left to mourn her are her children, Edward E Hickman, Jr (Rebecca) and Crystal Hickman Beddingfield (Alan), grandchildren Michael Beddingfield (Karen), Heather Hickman, Jason Beddingfield, Kelly Patel (Ketan), Jeff Beddingfield (Amanda), and Sarah Galyon (Troy), twelve great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
