Christian Wilhelm Fassbender

Christian Wilhelm Fassbender, age 94, of Townsend, TN, passed away on March 22, 2012 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He and his wife Liselotte, children, Ingrid and Tod immigrated from Germany in 1955 thereafter residing in Chicago. While vacationing in the Townsend area they fell in love with the countryside which reminded them of Southern Germany, their former home. He was an avid tennis player until two years ago; he organized a group of retired tennis players who are still playing today. He had continued his active lifestyle by joining the Blount Wellness Center. He is survived by his devoted wife and loving sister Helene Whittemore; daughter, Ingrid; son, Tod and their spouses; his grandchildren, Bryan MacDonald, Ethen Fassbender, Michelle Nachtrieb and Sebrina Fassbender; great-grandchildren, Dane, Evan, Gavin, and Quinn.
