Charles Ellis Williams, Jr., died Monday, August 24, 2015 from Alzheimer's, at the age of 93. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, a World War II Navy Veteran, a lifelong Ham Radio operator (AA4WX), and a founding member of the Smoky Mountain Amateur Radio Club. He was also a private pilot and a fan of big band jazz. A professional Electrical Engineer, he was the founding engineer at WGAP radio and spent many years as a NASA contractor. He was a member of New Providence Presbyterian Church. Preceded in death by: Brother, John E. Williams. Survivors include: Wife of 67 years, Ruth Williams; Son, James W. Williams; Daughter, Charlotte Williams. Family and friends will assemble for graveside service and interment at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 28, 2015 at Grandview Cemetery.
