Charles Crowder Goodson Jr.

Charles “Charlie” Crowder Goodson Jr. , age 54, of Maryville, fell asleep quietly clinging to the Christian promise of renewed body and mind on Monday, January 16, 2017. Charlie was a lifelong resident of the area and was formerly employed with Maryville College. He was an accomplished musician teaching both banjo and guitar. He loved the outdoors and was an avid deer hunter. Charlie was one of the kindest and friendliest people you would ever meet and truly loved to make people smile. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, and grandfather. Preceded in death by his parents, Charles Sr. and Ida Faye Poplin Goodson, mother-in-law, DeeAnn Tuck, sister, Judy Goodson King, niece, Jennifer Ward. Survived by his wife and best friend, Amy Renee Goodson; Son and daughter-in-law, Zach and Meghan Goodson; Daughter, Whitney Goodson; Granddaughter, Maci Goodson; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Kenneth & Teffe Tuck; Sisters and brothers-in-law, Sandy Shipwash, Wanda and Paul Walker, Mary and John Ward, and Shirley Roulette; Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law, Tim & Kristy Tuck; Sister-in-law, Tina Pack all of Maryville; A host of very special nieces, nephews and other family and friends also survive. A Celebration of Charlie’s Life will be held at 8:00p.m. on Friday, January 20, 2017 in the Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Tommy Boring officiating.
