Chadwick Houston Oliver, 39, of Friendsville, died January 4, 2017 following a long, brave battle with cancer. He was born February 22, 1977. He graduated from Maryville High School in 1995, where he played football and was a member of the Maryville Singers. He also attended Lee University and was a member of Lee Singers. Chad served as a Reserve Officer and diver with the BSORT for the Blount County Sheriffs Office for 6 years. He was the former owner of Friendsville Market and co-founder of Chadwick's Churn. Chad is survived by his parents Willy and Jan Oliver of Friendsville; his brother Chance and sister in law Sara; his beloved nieces Grace, Emma, and Kennedy. He also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well many dear friends. He is preceded in death by grandparents Gerald and Edna Finger; James and Minnie Oliver. Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 PM, Saturday, January 7, 2017, at Foothills Church, 1551 West Lamar Alexander Pkwy, Maryville. Funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM with Dr. Ottis Ball, Dr. John Sweet, and Dr. Herschell Baker officiating. Interment will be at 1:00, Sunday, January 8, 2017 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Alcoa. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to be made to: National Institute of Health and designated to 'NICHD Protocol 00-CH-0093' with a letter requesting this money be used for this protocol.
