Cecil James Cable

Cecil James Cable, age 89 of Maryville, passed away on Friday, November 9, 2018 at the family home. Beloved father and grandfather, he joined his wife in heaven. Cecil was originally from North Carolina and his family moved to Cades Cove when he was a child. He was a well-known Mercedes-Benz mechanic for over 50 years before turning the business over to his son and grandson. Cecil was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma; parents, Kie and Zenia Cable. He is survived by his children, Gary Cable, Barbara Roulette, and daughter and son-in-law, Judith and Mike Alfred; grandchildren, Jason Cable, Mandy Clark, Darrien Thompson, Jana Thatcher; great-grandchildren, Zachary Webster, Elizabeth and Natalie Cable, Hayden Thompson, Kamrym and Nicholas Dagel; sister, Willa Mae Lane. The family would like to express special thanks to Sandra Russell and Avalon Hospice. A visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Sunday, November 11, 2018 with a funeral service to follow at 6:00 pm officiated by Rev. Jeff Patton in Smith’s West Chapel.
