Carl Edward Cardwell

Carl Edward Cardwell, 74 of Maryville, TN passed away Thursday, January 30, 2025. He was born on September 1, 1950 in Sevier County, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Viola (Ball) Cardwell, sisters Josephine R. Cardwell and Betty J. (Cardwell) Reed. He is survived by his wife Barbara J. (Richardson) Cardwell of 54 years, son and daughter in law Donnie and Misti Cardwell, daughter and son in law Jennifer and Andrew King, sisters Mary R. Orr and Dorothy F. Garrett (Charlie), grandchildren Daniel Cardwell, Anna Cardwell, Parker King, and several special nieces and nephew. Carl was a 1969 graduate of Everett High school in Maryville, TN. He joined the U.S. Air Force and served from 1970-1974, including a tour in Vietnam in 1972-1973. He was a graduate of East Tennessee State University. He worked at K-25 in Oak Ridge from 1976-1981 and Y-12 from 1981-2012. A private graveside service will be held at Grandview Cemetery at a later date.
