Carl Byrd

Carl L. Byrd, 64 of Maryville passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at 1:15 AM at the family home after a courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Byrd was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. He so loved his church and his church family. He was a veteran, proudly serving in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was retired from TVA and Harrison Construction Company. He was preceded in death by: Parents, Lewis & Tish Byrd of Sevierville. Mr. Byrd is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Katrina G. Byrd; Daughters and Sons-in-law, Sheryl & Mike Millsaps, Rosalinde & Kevin McGhee and Leiann and Devon McCroskey. Surviving also are six grandchildren and his two special companions, Nellie & Lexie. Funeral service will be at 7:00 PM, Thursday, November 8, 2007 at Smith West Chapel with Bill Grindstaff officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 9, 2007 at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 8, 2007, Smith West Chapel.
