Wallace, Burma E. age 83 of Maryville, went to be with her Lord on Monday, September 17, 2007 from Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Maryville and a member of the Eastern Star. For many years, Mrs. Wallace had been an Avon representative in the Maryville area. She was a long-term resident of Maryville Healthcare and Rehab Center. She was the "unofficial greeter" at the nursing home. She was constantly checking on her many friends and encouraged them with her welcoming smile, quick wit, or even a song. She loved music, especially the old hymns. As a younger woman she enjoyed playing the guitar, harmonica and autoharp. Mrs. Wallace is preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Wallace of Arab, Alabama. Survivors include her daughter, Janie Cochran of Alcoa; son & daughter-in-law, Bob & Patti Wallace of Oak Ridge; grandchildren, Konnie Taylor of Maryville, Bobby Cochran & wife, Regina of Reedsburg, WI and Jeremy Wallace of Knoxville; great-grandchildren, Robby Mainor & Linzie Mainor. The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Blount Memorial Hospital for their gentle care and also to the staff at Maryville Healthcare and Rehab for the many years of caring, support and service. Funeral service 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Chaplain Sandy Foster officiating. The family & friends will assemble at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for the interment.
