Brian Keith Simerly

Brian Keith Simerly passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at the age of 48.  He was born in Maryville, TN on April 8, 1974 to Steve Key and Debra Simerly.  Brian spent most of his life in Blount County, TN, but did live in California for some time as a teenager before moving back home to Maryville.  He is preceded in death by Grandparents Charles Key, Dove Weeks, and Marie Lambert as well as Uncles Terry Tipton and Johnny Ray Lambert.

Brian is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Jennifer Simerly.  Children: Son, Trevor Fuller. Daughters, Kelsey Fuller and Lexie Wilson. Granddaughter: Paris Fuller. Parents: Mother, Debra Simerly. Father, Steve Key (Denise).  Sister: Stephanie Moss (Tommy).  Brothers: Scotty Key (Elizabeth), James Hill (Terri), Robert Russell, Mike Whitehead (Debbie), Curtis Whitehead (Candice).  Nieces and Nephews: Tyler, Brad, Valarie, Austin, Adison, Alice, Hunter, Taylor, Kaylee, Travis, Trenton, Brie, Char, Jaylon, Nathan, Logan and Waylon. Aunt: Genia Rose. Uncles: Jack Weeks (Missy), Stanley Key, and Tim Tipton.  Brian also leaves behind many cousins, coworkers, friends, and loved ones.

Brian was a longtime employee and Construction Manager of The Wakefield Corporation.  He was dedicated, hard working and loved his job.  And while he expected much of his men and coworkers, they knew without a doubt they could count on him for anything and above all else respected him and thought of him as family. 

Brian loved motorcycles, fishing and trading cars.  But more than anything he loved his family with all his heart. His smile could light up any room and he would always make those he loved laugh.  Brian was always ready to lend a helping hand and would give the shirt off his back to anyone he considered a friend. Brian loved hard and with everything he had and he will certainly be missed by everyone who was lucky enough to know and love him. 

Brian’s family will receive friends at Smith Funeral & Cremation Service, 1402 Tuckaleechee Pike, Maryville, TN on Friday, June 10, 2022 from 5-7pm in the Trinity Chapel.  A memorial service will immediately follow.  Family and friends will assemble for the graveside service at 1pm on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Louisville Memorial Cemetery, 3008 Louisville Road, Louisville, TN.  Smith Funeral & Cremation Service, Maryville, 865-983-1000, www.SmithFuneralandCremation.com
