Brian Gene Lanoue

Brian Gene Lanoue, age 78 (23), of Townsend, a good and faithful servant of Jesus Christ went home to be with his savior Thursday, February 24, 2022 at Blount Memorial Hospital. Brian was very active as a member of Broadway Baptist Church, and over the years, served as a deacon and musician at several churches he was a member of. He was an accomplished trumpet player playing in bands at Maryville College, and several churches including the First Baptist Church of Dallas, TX. He loved the outdoors taking many family trips to the mountains, especially Cades Cove. Brian was retired as an Electronic Engineer after many years of service, but continued to learn and study. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother who will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Lois Lanoue and sister, Wendy Riggan; Survived by his wife and best friend of 53 years, Glendarae Lanoue of Townsend; Daughters and sons-in-law, Jennie and Jimmy Capps of Leander, TX, and Beverly and J.J. Hollingshead of Ft. Myers, FL; Son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Jenna Lanoue of Colliersville, TN; 11 Grandchildren; 4 Sisters, and 1 Brother; several nieces, nephews and other family also survive. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 27, 2022 from 2:00 until 3:00 pm at Broadway Baptist Church with a Celebration of Brian’s life to follow at 3:00 pm with Rev. Tony Collins officiating. The graveside and interment service will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, Townsend, TN.
