Brenda Faye (Gross) Miller, Born on June 19, 1945, was the middle daughter of Charles and Ruth Gross and spent her childhood at the base of the Smokey Mountains in Alcoa, Tennessee. She met her sweetheart, William Miller, on a blind date in November 1962 and after graduating high school the two were married on January 11, 1964. Bill and Brenda soon moved south to Chattanooga and built a life together there with two children, Tami, 42, and Chuck, 31. Though she loved motherhood, it was when grandchildren came along that Brenda found her most joyful role as Nana. She is survived by Hayli, 18, Jeremy, 7, and Jackson, 4, and she loved them each to the moon and back. To Brenda’s credit is a 25-year career with CBL, a sorority sister in Beta Sigma Phi, and a member at Oakwood Baptist Church. In her later years, she and Bill enjoyed camping, cooking, and tooling around together in the yard, always happiest with grandchildren around. In November 2008, Brenda was diagnosed with brain cancer, and true to her innate determination, she fought the good fight. Her two-year battle ended on Sunday, October 31, in her home surrounded by family and dearest friends. Come celebrate Brenda’s life at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Tuesday evening.
