Bobby Edward "Bob" Oxendine; age 64, of Maryville, passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2006 at the Blount Memorial Transitional Care Center after two courageous battles with cancer. He was a graduate of Everett High School and the University of Tennessee. Bob was a retired engineer from the Aluminum Company of America who enjoyed golfing, fishing, and reading. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Lucille Gillespie, and his father, Ed Oxendine. Survivors include his wife, Debbie Oxendine; mother, Joyce Oxendine of Alcoa; sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Steve Rose of Knoxville; sons, Danny Oxendine and Nicky Oxendine of Maryville; daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Tom Bible; grandchildren, Samantha, Tyler, Ashley, Tara, and Justin; mother and father-in-law, Gordon and Ermine Griffin of Nashville, NC; sister-in-law, Susan Griffin of Hillsborough, NC; 3 nieces, 1 nephew, and Cassie, his baby dog and buddy also survive; Bob will be sadly missed by all his relatives, friends, and "Cassie". A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary. A private interment service will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary, Maryville, 983-1000.
