Bobby Eugene Collins

January 8, 1943 — July 31, 2011

July 31, 2011, Bobby Eugene Collins has gone the way of all the Earth (Josh. 23:14), paying the wages due to all descendants of Adam (Rom. 6:23), and fell asleep in death (John 5:28, 29). Bobby was born on January 8, 1943 to Clifford and Iola Collins, and raised in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. In 1963 he met and married his wife Sylvia Collins in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and fathered his only child, Julie Beth Collins, in 1972. In 1973 he and his girls moved to Maryville, Tennessee, where Bobby worked for Modular Computers at the Aluminum Company of America as a computer engineer. He also delivered the Daily Times for about 8 years beginning in the mid 1990s, and he assisted his wife in her real estate profession until his death. He will be missed by his wife Sylvia and his daughter Julie Beth Collins Breedlove. His son-in-law, Ralph Breedlove and all others who knew and loved him, including his part time daughter Carmen Hurst Wilson, who was such a help during this difficult time, His sister-in-law, Marie Hazard Russell, nieces Jamie Russell Centennial and a very special thanks to niece, Lorie Hazard Hines and husband Tony Hines. The last days of his life were comforted by the professional support of the doctors, nurses, and staff of Blount Memorial Hospital's CCU, the Palliative care group, and Hospice. We especially want to thank Dr. Allen Smuckler for his kindness, professional standards, and willingness to go above and beyond what is required in helping Bobby and his family through this very difficult time. There will be a Memorial for Bob on Saturday, August 6, 2011, at 7pm, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on Middlesettlements Road. Ron Abrahams, a local congregation elder, will be giving a talk from the Bible explaining why we die, the condition of the dead, and what hope is held out for those who have died. A dear friend, Jim Wells will do a short eulogy of Bobby's life. Relatives, friends, and acquaintances are invited, and encouraged to bring their Bibles and share in scriptural support of Sylvia, Julie, and others that loved Bobby and confidently look forward to the relief that is coming in the near future for those that have lost loved ones to mankind's enemy, death (1 Cor. 15:26). Anyone who would like to know the truth about the condition of the dead and the hope set out, in the Bible, for the future, is welcome to attend.( Ecc. 7:2) Smith Funeral & Cremation Service, Maryville, 865-983-1000.
