Beloved mother, nana, great nana, sister, aunt and friend Billye Perry went home to be with the Lord on April 20, 2018. She was born Billye Jane Deaton to Arthur Deaton and Alice Donia Deaton (Webb) on January 1, 1936 in County Line, Oklahoma. She is preceded in death by her parents and her six brothers and three sisters. She is also preceded in death by her daughter Janet (Little). At eighteen, she married Philip Perry and began a devoted 64-year marriage. Phillip and Billye raised four beautiful children. They enjoyed traveling, gardening, and entertaining family and friends. Billye shared the love of Christ as she served frequently through Smokey Mountain Christian Church in Sevierville. She continued a great tradition of service to others modeled by her mother. Billye used her gift of hospitality by cooking Wednesday night meals for the church and arranged to share leftovers with others in need (including ones with webbed feet). She started and hosted card club in three different cities which created many lifelong friendships. Her celebrated wit and charm made her the heart of many gatherings. She also passed on her love of reading, old movies, and music shows, as well as compassion for others She was famous among family and friends for her marvelous cooking that seemed to touch the soul, especially her pies and her bread-and-butter pickles. Billye was a deeply loving and devout woman, and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends. We know, however, there is great rejoicing in Heaven. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Phillip Perry, daughters Carolyn and Laura (Lee and son Andrew. She is also survived by her five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 27 at Smith Funeral & Cremation Service, 1402 Tuckaleechee Pike, Maryville, TN 37803. There will also be a visitation from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 28 prior to the funeral. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 28 at Smith Trinity Chapel with burial following at Grandview Cemetery.
