Billy R. Lane

Billy R. Lane, age 69, of Maryville, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Blount Memorial Hospital, with his family by his side. Bill was retired from Dart Transit where he worked for over 20 years, and he was a lifelong truck driver. He loved spending time with his family, friends, and grandchildren, and was a wonderful husband, father, and papaw who will be deeply loved and missed. Bill was a member of Forest Hill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by: parents, Clarence Sr. and Marie Phillips Lane; In-laws, Melvin and Malissa Galyon; Sister, Shelia Lane Helton; Sisters-in-law, Helen Lane, Beverly Humphrey, and Anna Faye Martin; Brother-in-law, JB Galyon. He is survived by: Wife of almost 45 years, Della Lane; Daughter & Son-in-law, Karen & Danny Crabtree; Grandsons, Justin and Jackson Crabtree; Brother, Clarence Lane Jr.; Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law, Carson & Wanda Galyon; Sisters-in-law, Mildred Horvath and Bernice Tyler; Sisters-in-law and Brothers-in-law, Barbara Buchanan & husband Dan and Mamie Edgar & husband David; Special friend & cousin, Sue Roland; Special friends, Dudley & Kim Kesler; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral service will be at 7:00 PM, Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Gary Thomas and Rev. Dan Buchanan officiating.
