Billy Gene Clabough, age 85, of Maryville passed away December 30, 2015 at home with Phyllis Clabough , his wife of 61 years, by his side. Bill was born in Blount County to Roy Henry and Mayme Wilson Clabough on July 26,1930. He married Phyllis Gregory Clabough on November 27, 1954. Bill was a member at Piney Grove Baptist Church where he served as Chairman of the Deacon Board. He retired from the Knoxville News Sentinel. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, sister in law Ethleen Clabough, brothers in law Charles Phelps, Jr and Bob Arnold. He is survived by his wife Phyllis Gregory Clabough and two daughters, Cindy Clabough Bolduc and Lorie Clabough Stead and her husband Kenny Stead. Grandchildren include Will Bolduc, Emily Bolduc Dyches, husband Brandon Dyches and Justin Stead. Great grand children Savannah and Brooklyn Dyches. Bill is also survived by brothers E. Melvyn Clabough and Charles Clabough and his wife Patsy and sister Kathleen Phelps as well as brother in law Mike Gregory and wife Carolyn, sisters in law Sandra Arnold, Mona Green, husband Jim, Carol Coulter and husband Larry. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Piney Grove Baptist Church from 3:00-4:30. Services to follow with Reverend George Macht and Reverend Chris Edmonds officiating.
