Billie June Wilds, 85, went Home to be with the Lord Wednesday, April 26, 2017. Born in Long Beach, CA she was raised in East Tennessee as were her parents. She lived many years in Maryville, Tennessee until moving to Jacksonville, FL with her husband Marvin C. Wilds and son Marvin Jake Wilds, Sr. A graduate of business school, she was a payroll administrator for a car dealership in Tennessee and later retired from a rewarding career in Purchasing at Peninsular Insurance Company in Jacksonville, FL. In addition to a fulfilling professional career, she held many seats in the Moose Lodge and remained socially active throughout her life. Throughout her many contributions she took great pride in bringing three generations of Wilds children into the world knowing the Lord. She also enjoyed outings with her sisters, playing cards, traveling, and a host of other activities. Prior to her illness Billie June was active in First Baptist Church of Jacksonville and regularly attended Piney Level Baptist Church when she and Marvin spent summers in Maryville. She was preceded in death by her husband and son, Marvin C. Wilds and Marvin Jake Wilds, Sr.; sister Imogene (Jean) Chambers and her husband Ollie of Jacksonville, Florida; sister Elsie Mae Grow and her husband Harold of Maryville, Tennessee; sister Dorothy Docktor and her husband Albert of Maryville, Tennessee; brother Jake Clyde (JC) Whitehead of New Martinsville, WV; and parents Jake and Sarah Alice Whitehead of Maryville, Tennessee. Billie June is survived (and eternally adored) by grandsons Marvin Jake Wilds, Jr. and his son, Marvin Jake, III (Trey) as well as Trey’s mother Jennifer; Terry Anthony Wilds, Sr. and wife Kacee along with their four children Taylor Elizabeth, Terry Anthony, Jr., Kaylee Marie, and Jake Kenneth; daughter-in-law Teresa Wilds, all of Jacksonville; special niece Barbara Cox and her son Brian, both of Maryville, Tennessee and son Clay Cox of Beaumont, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends that loved her. Visitation is on Tuesday, May 2 at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32211, from 6-7:00 PM.
