Billie F. Thacker

Billie F. Thacker, age 88, of Maryville, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2009. He was a member of Six Mile Baptist Church and a veteran of U.S. Army serving during WWII and the Korean Conflict as a Medic. He worked at J.C. Penney, was the manager of Parks Belk in Maryville, and a member of the Civitan Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rowena Thacker. Survivors include his sisters, Ollie Mullenax, Odean Sutton, Ida Byrd Thompson, and Mary Katherine Woodall; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Martha Thacker, and Joseph and Kyong Hui Thacker; 4 grandchildren, Shellie Thacker Harris, Jenny Thacker Steel, Billy Joseph Thacker, and Anna Thacker Flick; 8 great grandchildren, Hunter, Robby, Noel, Emmett, Libby, Ally Grace, Tristan, and Lauren. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Mark Green and his office nurses and the staff of Maryville Healthcare for their care, compassion, and respect. Funeral service 7:00 p.m. Sunday, July 5, 2009 Smith West Chapel with Rev. Bill White and Rev. Charles Murrell officiating.
