June 25, 1931 — February 9, 2012

Billie Ray Bailey Sr. age 80, of Maryville passed away Thursday, February 9, 2012 at Maryville Healthcare Center. He retired from the United States Air Force as a Mechanic on fighter jets and also from United Airlines. Billie was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and true friend who will be missed by those he leaves behind. Preceded in death by: Parents, Luther & Lillian Bailey; Son, Robert Lynn Bailey; Nine brothers and sisters. Survivors include: Wife of 58 years, Loretta M. Bailey; Son & Daughter-in-law, Billie Ray (Jr.) & Faith Anne Bailey of Townsend; Daughters, Debra Estelle Santos of Maryville and Dana M. Cragin; Grandchildren, David Richard Bailey of Maryville, Billy Ray "Bloopie" Bailey of Maryville, Steven James Martin Jr. & wife Bethany of Alcoa; Brothers, David J. Bailey of Alcoa and Larry Bailey & wife Jeannette of Rockford; Sisters, Irene Comer of Maryville and Kathyrene Gibbs of Louisville; Sister-in-law, Leola M. MacDonald of Wareham, MA; many loving nieces and nephews and other family; special pet, Chica. Family and friends will assemble for graveside service and interment at 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 12, 2012 at Grandview Cemetery with Rev. Greg Long officiating.
