Davis, Rev. William T. (Bill) passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 25, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer. Deeply and lovingly missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, and family and friends. Married for 48 years to wife, Yvonne. Born in Belle, WV and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Retired from Blount County Highway Department and was a nationally ranked certified heavy equipment mechanic. He was also a retired minister. He was ordained deacon and minister at Cades Cove Memorial Baptist Church, Maryville. He served as pastor of Zion's Chapel Baptist Church, Friendsville, Hillview Baptist Church, Mentor, Clinch River Baptist Church, Lake City, Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Friendsville, Kinzel Springs Baptist Church, Townsend, Ellejoy Baptist Church, Maryville, and Tarklin Valley Baptist Church, Knoxville. He was a member of Central Baptist Church, Alcoa and taught the Adult Men's Sunday School Class. Preceded in death by: Parents, Rancil and Annette Davis; Triplet Grandsons, William Grayon Davis, Steven Garrett Davis, and David Grant Davis. Survivors include: Wife, Yvonne Boring Davis; Daughter, Deanna Davis; Son and Daughter-in-law, David & Lori Davis; Brother & Sister-in-law, Richard & Reba Davis of Donaldson, GA; Sister & Brother-in-law, Laura & Don Murphy of WV. Funeral service 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 27, 2007 at Trinity Chapel, Smith Mortuary with Rev. Claude Ramsey, Rev. Greg Kelly, Mr. Josh Byrd, & Mr. Chad Yarnell officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 28th, 2007 at Grandview Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to TN Baptist Children's Home or UT Home Health & Hospice Gift Fund.
