Betty L. Thomas

Betty L. Thomas age 69 of Maryville passed away Monday, March 30, 2015 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Betty was a wonderful mother, grandmother & great-grandmother, who loved her family so very much. She absolutely adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she will be missed by everyone who knew her. She fought a hard fight with her health the last four years, especially the last 14 months, but she never gave up or said she wanted to. She loved her family and enjoyed them too much to do so. She was a member of Everett Hills Baptist Church for many years. Preceded in death by: Daughter, Traci Thomas; Parents, Ruth & Clyde Williams; Mother-in-law and Father-in-law, Lon & Marie Thomas; Brother, Gary Williams; Brother-in-law, Jerry Thomas. Survivors include: Husband, Marty Thomas; Daughter, Tammy Thomas (Devoy Brunson); Son, Todd Thomas (Tanya); Grandchildren, Alisha Parrott Hopper (Mark), Cory Irwin, Tori Irwin, Courtney Thomas, Russell Thomas, Seth Thomas; Great-Grandchildren, Hayden Inman, Kyler Hopper & Mason Yeaman; Sisters, Pat White (Randy) & Debby Gamble (Bob); Brothers, Charles Williams & Harold Williams (Shirley); Sisters-in-law, Sue Amburn & Shirley Williams; Nieces & Nephews, Scott White (Beth), Jeff White, Lisa White Axley (Scott), Michael Williams (Ashley), Jess Gamble (Shannon) & Amanda Roberson (Jeff), and Jeanne Tipton; Aunt, Alma Fugate; several great nieces, nephews, and cousins, that she was very close to. The family would like to thank Dr. Beatrice Concepcion at Vanderbilt Medical Center for her outstanding care and concern over the last 14 months. You could never know how much it meant to our family.
