Betty Jo Poland, 79 of Maryville received her wings on Thursday, November 12, 2015, after a sudden illness. She was born Betty Elgin of Longwood, FL. During her earthly life, she was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandma and friend to all. She will always be remembered for the twinkle in her eyes, her joy for cooking, singing and dancing around the house, and for the “little care packages” you would leave her house with. She was preceded in death by: son, Mark Eugene Poland; mother, Mildred Hall; step-father, Wilburn Hall. Survivors include: loving husband of 60 years, Charles Poland; son, Dennis Poland of Knoxville; daughter & son-in-law, Terri & Tom Carroll of Maryville; and her only grandchild, pride, and joy, Miranda Navratil of Taipai, Taiwan; sisters, Aldia Weaver of Murchison, TX, Linda Plumlee of Sandford, FL; and many close family members and friends. Funeral service will be at 2:30 PM, Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Emily Anderson officiating. Family and friends will assemble for interment at 3:00 PM, Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Grandview Cemetery.
