Betty Fox Kirkland, age 93 died January 15, 2012 at Asbury Place, born January 12, 1919 in Utica, NY to Clarence L. Fox and Ernestine Dennig Fox. Betty completed 3 years of college, 2 years at Green Mountain Junior College and 1 year at Catherine Gibbs Secretarial School in Boston. She worked for many years as executive secretary for National Ambulance (now Rural Metro) in Rochester, NY. Betty was a longtime member of Dewey Avenue Presbyterian Church in Rochester, NY and then 1st Presbyterian Church in Dundee, NY. She was currently a member of Lake Hills Presbyterian Church in Knoxville. Preceded in death by: Husband, Robert A. Kirkland (A World War II Veteran). Survivors include: Sons, R. Michael and wife Marcia Kirkland of Friendsville, TN, Dale R. & wife Elaine Kirkland of Patterson, NY; Grandchildren, Kenneth & wife Diane and great-granddaughter Jennifer of Webster, NY and granddaughter, Kathryn of Fairlawn, NJ; Sisters, Nancy Montgomery of Ohio, Beverly & husband Stuart Mundt of Colorado; Special Nephew, Robert & wife Charlotte Conant of Florida; several other nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services will be Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Lake Hills Presbyterian Church at 4:00 PM with receiving of friends to follow. Burial will be at Woodlawn Veterans Cemetery in Elmira, NY.
