Bessie L. Chambers

Bessie L. Chambers age 88, of Alcoa, passed away Friday, July 26, 2013 at Asbury Place of Maryville. She was married to Jack Chambers for 61 years before his death in 2008. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Alcoa for over 60 years where she taught a 6 year old Sunday School Class for many years. She loved to paint, bake cakes for friends and family, sew and crochet. She was a dedicated wife, mother and nanna. Preceded in death by her Daughter, Jackqline Chambers; Husband, Jack Chambers; Brothers, Roy Harris, Phillip Harris, and Ray Harris. Survivors include her Daughter and Son-in-law, Debbie and Robert "Bob" Ryan of Friendsville; Son and Daughter-in-law, Freddie and Tressia Chambers of Alcoa; Grandchildren, Jennifer Ryan Bell (Dan) of Atlanta, GA, Morgan Chambers, Katie Burns (Mike); Great Grandchildren, Beckom Ryan Bell, Raylee Burns, Lyndsey Burns; Sister Geraldine Murphy of Maryville; Special friends and loving care giver for seven years, Donna Standridge; Several nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. in Grandview Cemetery with Rev. Freeman Tomlin officiating.
