Bertha B. Jones

Jones, Bertha B. age 97 of Maryville, passed away Monday, June 12, 2006 at Colonial Hills Nursing Home. She attended Monte Vista Baptist Church. She was a 50 year member and past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star. She also was a member of the Foothills Quilters Guild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carel Wilson Jones; parents, Frank Eugene & Lona Morgan Bettis; sister, Mary Kate Ward; brothers, Luke Eugene Bettis and Frances Lyle Bettis. Survivors include her son & daughter-in-law, Fred Thomas & Nancy Jones of Tazewell; daughters & sons-in-law, Thelma Elizabeth & Walter Jones Jr. of Ashtabula, Ohio and Jean Doris & Bobby Lynn Smith of Maryville; 8 grandchildren, Susan Polland, Tommy Jones, Eugene Smith, Patricia Morgan, Daryll Smith, Barbara Dodson, Kathy Humphries & Shirley Waite; 14 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Annetta Bettis Marks of Jefferson City. There will be a reception at the Life Event Center (adjacent to Smith Mortuary) Wednesday June 14, 2006 from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and the family will begin receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary, Maryville. Funeral service will follow at 8:00 pm, Wednesday, June 14, 2006, Trinity Chapel, Smith Mortuary with Rev. Bob Dalton & Rev. Jerry Mantooth officiating. The family & friends will assemble at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 15, 2006 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, Jefferson City, for the interment.
