Bertha H. "Bert" Abbott

Bertha H. “Bert” Abbott, age 87 of Walland, TN passed away Sunday, May 22, 2022 at the family home.  Preceded in death by her daughter, Kelly A. Carter.  Survived by her husband of 67 ½ years, Carl M. Abbott; Son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Sandi Abbott of Cumming, Ga; Son-in-law, Dennis Carter of Birmingham, Al; Grandsons, Jason (Renae) Abbott of Cumming, Ga, and Josh (Amanda) Abbott of Caldwell, Mt; Great-grandsons, Nate and Konner Abbott of Cumming, Ga; Great Great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Nicole Abbott.  Bert lived most of her life in Albany, Georgia where she and Carl raised 2 children and were member of Byne Memorial Baptist Church.  She and Carl moved back too Walland in 2002 into the same house they built in 1957.  She was a member of Millers Cove Missionary Baptist Church and treasured her ladies Sunday School Class plus many dear church friends there.  Bert loved her view of the mountains from their home and the many rides thru the Smokies, especially Cades Cove.  Trips to Dollywood to enjoy the numerous concerts and seasonal shows were also her favorite thing.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Millers Cove Baptist Church, 317 W Millers Cove Rd, Walland, TN 37886. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery for graveside service and interment with Rev. Raymond Burnett officiating.
