Bernice Lois Acuff

Bernice Lois Duggan Acuff age 83 of Maryville passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at Colonial Hills Transitional Care Center. She was a member of Fairpark Wesleyan Church. Bernice was a 1945 graduate of Sevier County High School and worked at Y-12 Plant in Oak Ridge during World War II. She was preceded in death by: Husband, James Gale Acuff; Parents, Oscar & Emma Huskey Duggan and Son-in-law, Bob Meadows. Survivors include: Daughters, Charlene Meadows of Lufkin, TX, and Jama Acuff of Sharpsburg, GA; sons, Scott Acuff and wife Shirley of Sparta TN, Mark Acuff and wife Gayle of Fuquay-Varina, NC; five grandchildren, Holly Bridwell & husband Wade, Robin Lovelady, David Meadows, Scott Acuff Jr. and Seth Acuff & wife, Jennifer; great-grandchildren, Meggan Gonzalez & husband Jacob, Caleb & Morgan Bridwell, Boyd Lovelady, and Zachery Acuff; great-great-grandchild, Emalyn Gonzalez. The family would like to thank the Acuff's neighbors and caregivers Ruth Zellner, Linda Beeler, Peggy McKee, and Lois Smith. The funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, February 27, 2009 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Ray Couey officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
