Becky Ann Thompson

Becky Ann Thompson, 58, of Maryville passed away on November 24, 2022, after an 8-month battle with brain cancer.  Becky was a 1982 graduate of Powell High School, graduating 2^nd in her class.  She was a varsity cheerleader for her beloved Panthers.  Becky continued her education at TN Tech, majoring in Biology, was a varsity cheerleader for 3 years, and was voted Homecoming Queen by the student body in 1984.  Becky was a shining light with a million-dollar smile.  She was an angel on earth and now she is an angel in Heaven.  She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Benton Neely.  Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Austin P. Thompson, Jr.; sons, Tanner Haston Thompson, Garrett Benton Thompson (Tara); grandchildren, Benton, Ruthie, and Parker; mother, Nancy Jo Neely; brother, Scott Neely (Cindy).  A special thank you goes out to our hospice nurse, Kelly Sanderson for her dedication and love through this difficult time.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2022, in the Smith Trinity Chapel with the service to follow at 7:00, Rev.
