Barbara Joan Hipps

Barbara Joan Hipps, age 54, passed away Friday, September 14, 2007 at the family home in Friendsville after a courageous battle with cancer. She was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma during 1994. Joan was born February 4, 1953 at Blount Memorial Hospital to loving parents, David Maxwell and MaryEtta Finger. She will always be specially remembered for her sweetness and love for her children and other children. Joan was a faithful and loving member of First Baptist Church of Friendsville and, until her health prevented her from actively serving our Lord Jesus Christ, she had served a great number of years in the Children's department and adult choir. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, David Maxwell & MaryEtta Finger; and her son, David Isaac Hipps. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, David William Hipps; Son, Christopher William Hipps of Friendsville; Brother, Glenn David Finger of Maryville; Brother & Sister-in-law, Allen & Kathy Finger of Lenoir City; numerous special friends. Funeral service will be at 6:00 PM, Sunday, September 16, 2007 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Dr. Mark Grubb officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 AM, Monday, September 17, 2007 at Zion's Chapel Cemetery for the interment.
