Ava Jean McGaha age 60 of Maryville passed away Monday, August 20, 2007 at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Alcoa where she was very active and played a prominent role in Vacation Bible School for various churches. She loved to bake cakes and was known for her "Ms. Ava Cakes." Preceded in death by her father, Paul Wild. Survivors include her husband, Walter McGaha; sons and daughters-in-law, Walter, Jr. and Daisy McGaha of Maryville, Jeff and Kristy McGaha of Loudon; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Keith Hutchison of Powell; seven little angels called her Mamaw; mother, Ethel Wild of Newport; brothers, Roger Wild of Morristown and Randall Wild of Jonesborogh, GA; sisters, Nancy Self of Newport, TN, Shirley Fulmer of Gilbert, SC, Donna Jenkins of Lexington, SC, and Rita Thomas of West Columbia, SC. Funeral Service will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, August 23, 2007 at First Baptist Church of Alcoa with Rev. Freeman Tomlin officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 24, 2007 at Union's Cemetery in Newport for the interment.
