Anna Burch Haynes, age 73 of Maryville, TN passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2024. Anna was born on September 2, 1951 in Cleburne, TX. She was the youngest of six children and grew up on the family farm near Rio Vista, TX. She was preceded in death by her father Joe Burch, mother Collene Burch, and brother Gaylon Burch. She is survived by her husband of 44 years Tom Haynes; daughter Pamela Binns and her husband Mike and their daughter Cora of Katy, TX: brothers Bill Burch of Keene, TX and Tommy Burch and his wife Diane of Rio Vista, TX; sisters Marion White of Breckenridge, TX and Helen Sims of Cedar Hill, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. While growing up, Anna was an outstanding athlete excelling at basketball and volleyball throughout high school and going on to play basketball at Hill Junior College in Hillsboro, TX. She then worked for the Atcheson, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railroad in Cleburne for seven years before meeting her future husband Tom on a blind date. They married in August 1980 and lived briefly in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. About three months after the wedding Tom was transferred to Norway, beginning an adventure that kept them on the move for the rest of Tom’s career, living in Norway; West Germany; Scotland; Bartlesville, OK (again); McKinney, TX; Borger, TX; and the Houston, TX area three different times. Daughter Pamela was born in Norway. Anna was a faithful servant to the Lord, being active in the churches she attended during all her travels. She was a very active member of First Baptist Church of Maryville. She loved singing hymns and studying God’s word both in groups and individually. She particularly enjoyed going to events at The Cove in Asheville, NC and going to the National Quartet Gospel convention in Pigeon Forge. The family will receive friends at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 10, 2025 with a Memorial Service to follow officiated by Dr. Bill Booth.
