Ann B. Blair, 90 of Harriman, formerly of Maryville, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at home. She was a very private person and never wanted anyone to take care of her except her only child, daughter Sandy. Since 1996 Sandy has devoted her life to lovingly caring for Mother, who appreciated every kindness given to her. Spring was her favorite season and she always enjoyed being outside in her yard and on her property trails. Ann was an example of honesty, integrity, and self-respect which enabled her to love unconditionally and forgive as a child of God. After being fed ice cream, she smiled her thank you and shortly afterwards God took her in his arms and relieved her of her severe pain. Ann was preceded in death by her only true love, her husband, David C. Blair. While he was in training to go into World War II she worked at Ft. Leonardwood in the Officer’s Hall to be close to him. While he was in World War II, she worked on the Manhattan Project at Y-12 as a supervisor. After the war, they were blessed with their only child, daughter Sandy. Ann worked as a supervisor in her later career until 1972 when her personal war with cancer took over. Others preceded in death include: Parents, Ollie & Liddy Gibson; Brothers, Gene Gibson, Crowder Gibson, Earnest Gibson & wife, Margaret; Sisters, Stella Tilley & husband, Lee and Juanita Plemmons & husband, Fremont; nieces; Barbara Tilley Holden, Shirley Gibson Sweet; nephews, Freddie Gibson, Jr., & Richard Gibson. Ann is survived by her daughter, Sandy Blair of Harriman; Brother, Freddie (Mildred) Gibson of Maryville; many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, Ann would like her loving family and friends to anonymously assist someone in need and bring joy to their life.
