Anita Bales, 75, of Maryville, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Blount Memorial Hospital in Maryville, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Pauline Wilson of Maryville. She is survived by husband Paul Bales, son Brian Bales and daughter in law Bridget Bales of Scottsdale, Arizona, two grandchildren Brooke Bales of Scottsdale, Arizona and Brittany Bales of Dallas, Texas, best and lifelong friends Don and Wilma Mull of Alcoa, Tennessee, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Anita was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother and friend and was loved by many. She was a graduate of Everett High School and Knoxville Business College and was a remedial reading assistant teacher in the Blount County School system. She played piano for many years at the Forest Hills Baptist Church, and was a lifelong resident of Blount County, a place she loved and called home. The visitation is from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM, followed by the funeral service, on Wednesday June 1st at Smith Funeral & Cremation Service, 1402 Tuckaleechee Pike, Maryville, Tn. 37803. Reverend George Macht will be officiating. A private burial will follow.
