Amon Zackious Beasley, 85, went to his eternal home on November 1, 2018. Amon, formerly of Bryson City North Carolina, was a resident of Oak Forest Illinois. Amon served in the US Army for 2 years, 1954-1956. He married Dorothy Graves in 1961 and they enjoyed 47 years together before her death in 2008. Amon was a member of First Baptist Church in Tinley Park Illinois and also served many years as a deacon, usher and teacher at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Country Club Hills Illinois. He retired from Chicago Kenworth and also worked for Mack Trucks serving as a parts salesman for both companies. Since retirement he has enjoyed reading, watching a good western, working in his yard, and traveling to visit family. Amon was a hard-working man who enjoyed serving His Lord and helping his family and friends. Preceded in death by: wife of 47 years, Dorothy Lynn Graves Beasley; parents, Thomas and Ferby Franklin Beasley; brother, James Beasley; sisters, Hazel Beasley Cammire and Ruth Beasley Fry Burdette. Survivors include: daughter, Rhonda Beasley of Wichita, KS; sons & daughter-in-law, Terry & Denise Beasley of Cameron, MO, Carl Beasley of Wichita, KS and Thomas Beasley of Plainfield, IL. Amon was blessed with 6 grandchildren that he loved and adored, Victoria, Gabe, Eden, Angelique, Judah and David Beasley. He is survived by a sister, Jackie Beasley Tarver of Knoxville, TN and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Monday, November 12th at Zion Chapel Baptist Church in Louisville, TN. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Zion Chapel Cemetery.
