Alyene H. Benson

Alyene H. Benson age 76 of Friendsville passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was an active member of RIO Central where she enjoyed cell groups and all other church activities. She was a Sunday School Teacher, sang in the choir, and was previously part of the jail ministry. Preceded in death by: Husband of 55 years, Loy W. Benson; Brother, J.C. Reno. Survivors include: Sons & Daughters-in-law, Steve & Patty Benson of Michigan City, IN, Gary & Delaney Benson of Alcoa, and Dale & Tracy Benson of Gainesville, GA; Daughters & Sons-in-law, Peggy & David Borden of Friendsville, Teresa & Mike Lindsey of Townsend, Laurie & Bob Lewis of Lenoir City, Rebecca & Ronnie Duckworth of Friendsville, and Jenny & Jamie Payne of Maryville; 22 Grandchildren; 11 Great-Grandchildren; Sister, Betty Curtis of Maryville; Special nieces and nephew, Pat Prater, Tammy Daily, and Mike Curtis; Special friends, Wilford & Sheree Moody. Funeral service will be at 4:00 PM, Sunday, January 18, 2009 at RIO Central with Rev. Ronnie Hepperly officiating. Interment will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, January 19, 2009 at Zion's Chapel Church Cemetery. Grandsons will be serving as pallbearers. Memorial donations may be made to: RIO Central for Missions, 370 S.
