Alvin Roy Lindsey

Alvin Roy Lindsey, 77, of Maryville, left to be with his heavenly father on January 6, 2019. He was a retiree from Blount County Highway Department where he served 41 years and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Alvin was married to adored wife Jenny Lou Green Lindsey for 57 years. Alvin is preceded in death by his father and mother, Clyde and Susie Lindsey of Maryville, brothers: J.W., Melvin, David, Raymond, and John Lindsey of Maryville, and sister Joyce Sands of Maryville. Survivors include: Wife Jenny Lou Green Lindsey. Sisters: Mary Sue Grooms of Michigan, Edna Rasmussen of Illinois, and Anna Ruth Marusak of Michigan. Sons: Alvin “Buck” Lindsey, Glen and Whitney Lindsey, and Mike and Angie Lindsey of Maryville. Grandchildren: Brittany Lindsey, Cody Lindsey, Steven and Ashley Dotson, Michael “Scooby" Lindsey, Makayla and Makena Lindsey of Maryville. Great Grandchildren: Hunter and Jacob Lindsey, Lily and Adalynn Lindsey, and Kinsley and Emma Dotson of Maryville. He was loved by many family and friends and will be missed by all. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Smith’s West Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Mike Parker officiating.
