Allan W. Tompkins, Jr. age 77 of Townsend, formerly of Oakland, CA, passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2010. He was previously owner of Tremont Camp Ground of Townsend and former owner of Creekside Log Cabins of Walland. Preceded in death by: Parents, Allan W. Tompkins, Sr. & Rosalie M. Tompkins; Wife, Frances Joann Tompkins. Survivors include: Wife, Carol Tompkins; Son & Daughter-in-law, Richard & Stephanie Tompkins of CA; Daughter, Linda Pittenger of Paradise, CA; Son, David Tompkins of MI; Step-son, John Grubbs of Townsend; Grandchildren, Jessica Tompkins, Melissa Tompkins and David Tompkins all of MI, Daniel & Nicholas Tompkins of CA, and Laura & Julianne Pittenger of CA; Great-Grandchildren, Ethan Milburn and Emma Tompkins; Brothers, Richard & James Tompkins of CA. Memorial service will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 6, 2010 at Tuckaleechee United Methodist Church with Pastor Kenneth Abbott officiating.
