Alice W. Claiborne

Claiborne, Alice W. of Knoxville, passed away Monday, December 24, 2007 at her home. She was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church and a graduate of Knoxville General Nursing School. She was retired from Blount Memorial Hospital as an Administrator of Nursing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl R. Claiborne and she was the last surviving member of the A.L. & Alice Fitch Ward family. Survivors include her sons, Roger Claiborne of Lakeville, CT, Tom Claiborne & wife Susan of Alcoa, David Claiborne & wife, Emma of Knoxville; 2 grandchildren, Abigail and Alexander; several nieces & nephews; special friends, Craig Garrett, Stan Shelton & David Reynolds; very special friend, Dorothy Chastain. Memorial service 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2007 at the Smith Trinity Chapel. The family & friends will assemble for interment 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 29, 2007 at Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Claiborne's name to St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 314 W. Broadway, Maryville, TN 37803 or St. Jude's Children's Church Memorial Program, 501 S. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
