Webb, Alfred "Ray"; age 81, of Maryville, died Saturday, January 03, 2009 at Asbury Place of Maryville. He was a lifetime member of the 1st Methodist Church of Alcoa and attended Maryville High School and Maryville College; He was retired from the Department of the Army after 35 years of service and was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a member of the Alcoa City Commission for many years, the Prudential Lodge #719, F & AM, the Scottish Rites Shrine, the American Legion Post #13 in Maryville; He was a former board member of the Sam Houston School House and actively involved in numerous community activities over the years. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Carver Webb and siblings, Carson, Gordon, William, Jack, and Thomas Webb and Ellen Webb Akins. Survivors include his son, Bob Colvin and his fianc�, Carol Haynes both of Maryville; daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Ed Roberson of Knoxville; grandchildren, Michael and Ally Colvin, and James Roberson; step-granddaughter, Lindy and husband Paul Rottler; step-great-grandson, jack Rottler; many beloved nieces and nephews; Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, January 5, 2009 in the Smith West Chapel with Rev. Joe Green officiating. Entombment will follow in the Grandview Mausoleum. Memorial donations may be made to the 1st Methodist Church of Alcoa, 617 Gilbert St., Alcoa, TN 37701.
