Ada Faye Branam McCarter Hammontree age 90 of Greenback passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Pigeon Forge Care & Rehab Center. Ada was born in Pittman Center, TN and later moved to Greenback. She was a member of Greenback Memorial Baptist Church. Ada retired as Greenback Library Director and loved reading and spending time with her grandchildren. Preceded in death by: Parents, Earl & Rintha Huskey Branam; 1st Husband, John McCarter; 2nd Husband, Henry Hammontree; Son, John R. McCarter; Grandson, Todd Hammontree; Brother, David Richard Branam; Sisters, Ruby Guffey, Mabel Hodges, and Erma Murrell. Survivors include: Daughters & Sons-in-law, Margaret Moore & husband Rev. Dan Moore and Clara Sue Hammontree & husband George; Grandchildren, Trent & wife Lesli Hammontree, Angelea Stafford, Les McCarter, Tony McCarter, Regina LaSogga & husband Stephen, and Larissa McCarter; several great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces.
